1994 Ford F-250 Can't separate engine and transmission

I'm trying to pull my engine and am stuck. All accessories and cables removed. Disconnected the exhaust from the exhaust manifold. Removed 6 bolts between engine and transmission (bell housing). Removed lower cover plate, starter and 4 bolts from flywheel to torque convertor. I removed the bolts from the engine mounts. I can lift the engine up and expect the transmission to breakaway but it doesn't. I have a Transmission Jack under the transmission and lowered the eng/tran on it thinking they would separate - but still no luck. I have never had this problem before - what am I missing.

If your trans has never been out of the truck before you may need to try to get under it with a big pry bar. From age and corrosion they can weld themselves together. Did u remover the starter and the bolts that go in from the front also? Most fords have 4 or 6 bolts that bolt in from the back and 2 or 4 that bolt in from the front.

I don't think you are missing anything. But just recheck all the bolts just the same. What I thinkl is that the guide nubbs on the bell housing are hung up. Try raising the engine just a little, then rock it side to side, instead of up and down. Maybe that will get it to come loose.
