Drove the car yesterday, turned it off, pulled out the key and the car kept running. I was told that the ignition switch needs to be replaced. I haven't heard back from the mechanic and am just looking for an estimate on the repair bill. I had to take it to a mechanic I haven't dealt with because of the time of day, but was "assured" they are reputable. Just want a ballpark of where the estimate should be when I receive a phone call from them. Thanks!

Just got off the phone and that's exactly what the mechanic said - it needs an actuator. He's calling around for the part and hopes to get back to me with an estimate in about 45 minutes. Yes, the key just spun around and didn't stop anywhere. I'll let you know how close to your estimate the labor charge ends up. Thanks for your quick response!
