Alternator problems?

1994 f-150 300 L6 150000 miles. After jump starting vehicle the gauge reads about 8 volts but battery light is not on. When I pull the positive cable the truck stalls. I think alternator needs to be replaced

Take it for a drive. This should charge your battery. If the battery does not charge and truck still stalls then it is most likely an alternator problem and will have to be replaced
