Recently I put my truck in 4 wheel drive and now I can not get it to come out. I used the manual switch in the cab as I have many times in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my '04 F150. Did you put it into Low or Hi 4x4? Read your owners manual. I believe you have to switch it out of 4 wheel drive, and turn off the engine. Maybe the sequence is in reverse order but it should work.

Try placing the transmission in neutral before you press the switch.

Yes, he is correct, the vehicle must be completely stopped with the foot on the brake and the transmission in neutral (not in Park) before you can disengage the 4x4 low. This is not necessary to do if you are in 4x4 Hi. This is all described in your owners manual pg. 167.
