Is this just while the truck is in motion? Or even at rest? I will tell you that the shift motor is often the problem, take it off an try cleaning the contacts, reinstall it, tap it with a small hammer, if 4X4 now works, down the road you will need the shift motor.

The shift motor is on the transfer case, it looks like a window motor... Have someone press the button while you tap it.
