My check engine light has been on and my truck seems like it is missing at low rpms. I got the computer read out and it came up with a P1537, Intake runner control stuck open. The truck has 200k miles on it but is in good running condition otherwise. Is there a simple solution to this problem, actually I will take any solution. Would like to fix as inexpensively as possible. The truck is a 98 flareside f150, v6, 4.2l, 5spd manual trans, 4x4. Thanks for the help.

It sounds like one of the control solenoids are stuck or not working. Here is the location so you can remove the solenoids to see if you can blown through them. You should not be able to btw. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
