My 1997 f-150 has @86000 miles and my airbag indicator would flash now and then and then it seemed to stop. Well today I started down the road and it had a static sound coming from down below my gas pedal and when I started driving it shifted hard from 1st to 2nd. I noticed it and also notice that my speedometer is not operational, it is staying at zero but my tach is working. So I drove back to my house, it seems to shift ok from 2nd to 3rd and down shift ok but from a stop lite it shifts like at 3k rpms and shifts rough and I checked my fluid in transmission is ok and clean. Thanks for the help in advance.I am able to use reverse gear and idle in neutral. Just have a static sound around my feet like something is sizzling and I do not smell anything. Thanks.R Murphy

Hi murphy. First you will want to check all your fuses. Next get the truck scanned at your local parts store. This should point you to the right direction. Possibly a throttle position sensor. Good luck billymac
