I replace the alt today and a new battery and cerpenteen belt still low volt like 6volt at the batter what could be the proplem the battery light stays onn now didnt befor

Check belt tension and all wiring connections >

Alternator Light Stays On With Engine Running

Loose or worn alternator drive belt. Check alternator drive tension and condition,

Loose alternator wiring connections. Check all charging system connections

Short in alternator light wiring

Defective alternator stator or diodes. See Bench Tests in ALTERNATOR article

Defective regulator. See Regulator Check in ALTERNATOR article
