1991 Ford F-150

The battery got hooked up backwards with the key on and burned a piece of wire to the alternator. Now it turns over and won't start. All the fuse links are good. What should I be looking at or for?

I changed the tfi and got it started. The problem now seems to be fuel. Some one dumped urine in the tank. Thank you for your help.

Joe:
I can't believe it. If you replaced the TBI and it's running, make sure to dump the fuel in the tank, fuel line, replace the filter, clean the fuel rail. Or you will end up with the same problem.

Thank you again for the help. I really thought the computer was gone but on a whim I replaced the TFI and it started. I understand about the fuel tank, lines and rail. If I disconect the fuel return line, this will purge the rail, correct?
