1986 Ford F-150 Engine hesitates and blows out smoke

1986 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I changed the the regulator and temp sensor and I the the injectors are working fine not sure thow but today I was flooling with it and I took a connector lose from under the plenum and it ran pretty I drove aroud the block no flooding or black smoke when I pluged it back in back to the flooding and black smoke im guessing tps sensor I need help to identify what it is but with the connector I drove like two blocks and the engine seem like if was send code in and out so I hook the connector back up with it was running it made the engine stall I wanna know if that sensor even though it stalled it started back up. HELP!

It's gonna help me if we narrow down where the connector is you removed, can you post a picture?

Umm yeah I could when I get home im using someone eles computer but it rite under the plenum it has two screw in with three wire coming from it right into I connector it like directly under it

The TPS is directly lined up on the throttle shaft, held on by two screws. What color are the wires? TPS has orange/white, black/white, and dark green/lt green.

That does look like the TPS, but under it, are those your plug wires? If so relocate them and inspect them for signs of arcing, high tension wire like these can interfere with your sensors, including the TPS, re-route these wires!
