Cant find a dip stick

Ok I have a 93 ford explorer 90143 mls I think its a 2.2 lt engine and it is a manuel trans 5 speed. Does it have a dipstick for transmission fuild and where would it be located. Also while driving the car makes a kind of grinding noise or if it over reeved, not like if you didnt get the gears in right tho, when ever I push in the clutch it stops. Do I need a new cluch. :D
