Hello,

When my 4 wheel auto is needed and engages, it will not disengage on its own. To disengage it I have to press 4 wheel high button and then press 4 wheel auto button. This happens everytime 4 wheel auto is needed, slippery roads, dirt, etc. This just started happening after I took my vehicle in and had the transmission fluid changed. They say it's not related. I'm not sure. Can you help? Thanks.

Hi am544,

Thank you for the donation.

When such a problem happens, it might or might not be related to the fluid change and the only way to find out is to get on a diagnostic to find out what is causing the problem. There are so many possibilities and the diagnostic would be able to find the cause as it should be an electrical control problem. Here a list of possibilities and fuses are something that you can check by yourself.

4WD indicator(s).
Transfer case
Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 15 (15A).
Central junction box (CJB) fuse 12 (5A).
4WD module (PCM).
Circuits: à † 359 (GY/RD). à † 779 (BR). à † 780 (DB).
Mode select switch (MSS).
Transfer case clutch.
Powertrain control module (PCM).
Ignition switch and/or circuitry.
CAN communication network.
Instrument cluster (IC).
