The gearshift on my 2004 Ford Explorer broke(the hollow metal rod in the steering column that it was connected to sheared in two)the gearshift is still connected by the spring assy. inside of the small rod; i was told it would cost about $67 for the part and $134 for the labor on the phone asd an estimate but after looking at it they said the whole steering column would need to be replaced for around $1900.
I need some advice - that's a lot of money for me to come up with in short notice.
