Transmission problem
2000 Ford Explorer V6 All Wheel Drive Automatic 90000 miles

I'm Having trouble with my awd. When I go and put it in 4H I can here it engage but it seems as if I am in 4L when I move the selector to 4L it seems to get stuck in 4L. My awd seems to be working I feel it engage if I am driving and a wheel slips. I did replace tires on the front about a month ago it called for 235\75\15 and I put 235\70\15 on the front a mechanic told me that slight difference is enough to cause this problem. What do you think?

I think the mechanic is right! 1/2 inch hight will throw the sensors off. ALL tires mut be the same hieght! Put on only recomended sizes, and then if you change to another allowable size, for example my lincoln allows four sizes, but all four must match for ABS to operate normally! Match to an allowed size as found on the sticker on the drivers door jamb!
