1997 Ford Explorer vacum leak

When I start the engine it sounds like an air vacim leak on top and the rpm's go up and down and sometimes the engine stalls.

Hi there,

This is sounding like a vacuum leak, start with checking all the vacuum hoses for correct fitting, cracking or damage, also you can use a length of hose as a stethoscope and listen around throttle body, manifold and you may hear the leak, try this first.
