1997 Ford Explorer rotten smell coming from vents, ESP when

I think a small animal has gotten into my ventilation system and died. How do you get rid of the rotten smell? I have taken my car to the Ford dealership & they want almost $2,000 just to take my dashboard apart-and thats without knowing where the problem is!

Your options are to take and dump some bleach down the in the vents and then spray a bleach water mixture thorughout the vents and then run it, does it go away?

Also check the cabin air filter.

If all is good you will have to take it in or take the dash apart yourself.
