I have 1995 Ford Explorer. Put on the heat for the first time this Fall and the truck started to stall and loose power. Also mad a noise with smell. Please help.

I would check a/c compressor to see if clutch is locking up. When heat is on defrost...ac cycles....a locked up clutch smells awful and will sometimes stall vehicle.
