2000 Ford Expedition

When I switch into 4WD high I can a clicking noise in the left front wheel when I go forward. the sound increases in speed corresponding to an increase in vehicle speed. When I shift out of 4WD the clicking remains when the vehicle moves forward and doesnt go away until I back up a few feet. The clicking isnt there when I'm in regular driving mode.

Check for vacuum leaks to the differential. It sounds like it isn't fully engaging. If there are no leaks, the axle needs to come apart to check for damage to the shifting unit (2wd to 4wd) in the front axle.
