4.6 v8 125,000 miles, I get a whining noise when I accelerate. Never had the transmission flushed.

Check under the hood and try and isolate the b problem, like a belt or tensioner, may be a dirty belt, I can tell you how to clean it but its dangerous, and possibly the tensioner
