2000 Ford Escort reset service engine light

I had a vacuum leak from a cracked hose. The cars idle fluctuated at stop sign. We repaired the hose and the car runs like new again. The check engine is still on and would like to be able to reset it w/o having to go to the dealer! Can you help?

Most good autopart's stores will read and clear your CEL/MIL for free (autozone)

You can go to Autozone or Checker O'Reilly, they can turn the light for free. Or, remove the battery terminals for about 15 minutes. That will clear the computer. The only bad thing doing that though is that you have to adjust your radio setting, and the computer has to re-learn everything.
