1999 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 1999 Ford Escort. The check engine light came in and I was told my shift selonoid is bad. How hard to replace and how expensive to do it.

Is the transmission shifting properly? If it is, that isn't a problem. If it isn't, it isn't an expensive part and they are bolted to the valve body in the transmission. Remove the trans pan and you can access them.
