1994 Ford Escort
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hello

Ive had an oil leak around the valve cover gasket and oil pan of my 1994 ford escort. I plan on having it repaired less then a week from now.. It has been leaking for a while now and for the last two days when I start the car its been making a clicking sound. The clicking stops once I put oil in the engine. will getting the valve and oil pan fixed make a difference ? or has there been some damage now since its been clicking. Please respond.
Thanks for your time.

Hello,

Yes, since you are getting the leaks fix you won't have to keep putting oil in it. As long as you have been adding oil at the time or shortly after it has started click there will be no long term problem. The ticking just indicates that there is not enough oil to completely lube the parts. But, they are getting oil.

Hello

thanks so much for your timely response. I feel much better that putting oil in my engine until I get repairs done makes a difference. You've given me some peace of mind. I will make sure to tell my friends and family about your site. Thanks again.
