When I apply brake transmission does not release out of park.

Sounds like it could be a problem on the BOO switch (brake on/off) and the car is not getting the correct signal when you press pedal ? Try shifting manually with the ignition on but the engine not running? Does this work? Without knowing the exact model of vehicle I can't help further i'm afraid. There are different gearboxes depending on engine size?
