Pulled out of intersection one day in a hurry (lots of throttle) car went about 300 yards, then transmission quit propelling it forward. Now it has no gears whatsoever. Engine speeds up a little when shifter is operated, but nothing else happens. Oil good

Some questions for you first, was there any noise when it failed to drive? Do you have reverse gear or is everything dead? When you place it in gear and throttle up is the speedo working?

No noise, just quit moving under engine power. Have no forward, no reverse, so also have no speedo. Thanks

Hi there,

It sound as if you have lost all hydraulic pressure, you may have broken the oil pump drive, there will nothing much that you can do on your own, I would be getting it it to a transmission specialist for further investigation.
