1989 Ford Escort problem

The car will start if you prime the bowl and keep giving it gas but will not idle. Replaced the fuel pump. What do you think it is.

Are you sure it has a carburetor?

Will it stay running if you give it gas or only when pouring it in engine?

Well you either have a bad idle air control valve or a vacuum leak. Most likely a stuck idle air control valve. Hope this helps
