1997 Ford E-Series Van Two Wheel Drive Automatic 27000 miles

I've 1997 RV on a Ford E-superduty w/ v-10 auto trans.

behind the battery in the engine compartment there is a black plastic vacuum hose. The hose goes between the battery and the blower moter. Some animal chewed through it and I can't find where the end goes. The end that I have has vacuum, and it goes about 8-12" to the left of the blower motor into the the fender almost.
The heat/ac only works in defrost, I've been told that is the way it works with no vacuum.

where does my black hose go?

One end goes to source vacuum (intake manifold or vacuum port) the other goes through the firewall to the vent control. Once you splice them back together your vents will work again

Jack I pulled the fender, climbed in and under, and can't find where this vacuum tube would go. Is there any way you could send me a picture or drawing of the E-superduty firewall access point? Thing are very tight in there.

I can find the black tubing on the inside, but it goes up, and I really don't want to pull the dash, if I don't have to. Thank

The diagram doesnt really show a detailed pic of where it pokes through. It is common for them to break off, you can go through in another place if it is easier to access it, as long as it is just the feed (single black line) and just connect it to the other end.
