I need to lower the steering column to access the ignition switch. I am not sure what needs to be loosened in order to lower the column to expose the switch. I would really appreciate some help. I would love to donate but right now is bad. If I can get some help I would send some money when I get paid.

Just so happens I had to do this only a few days ago. The first thing you have to do is take out the air bag from the steering wheel. Disconnect the battery for about half hour to let the air bag capacitiors drain out. Don, t do this and it is POW right in the face. Take 8mm socket to take out the 4 bolts sometimes there are plastic caps on them you have to remove. Then pull the steering wheel off, then remove the plastic collars off the steering collum use a phillips there then remove the 2 bolts under the dash panels that hold up the collum then remove the 2 bolts on top of the collum over the switch and the switch should now pull out for you. Make sure that the new switch pin is lined up with the slots on the innner collum body and be sure not to wind that ribbon wire too tight or the wheel wont turn right and you will have to take off the wheeel again and try once more on that ribbon wire. Check to make sure that the engine starts in park and nuetral and the acc position works and you are done
