I own a 1998 Crown Victoria LX with the standard 4.6 L engine. Other than some valve chatter during acceleration ( im guessing I have an air leak somewhere), I have not had any major engine problems. I have been told that Ford's 4.6 L engines are extremely reliable and durable. In the mornings when I go to work, the engine will turn over and start with no problem but the engine dies immediately. To keep the car running, I have to stay on the accelerator. While driving the car like this, I have to constantly accelerate and the ac pump and the power steering barely work. About 10-15 miles down the road I can hear the ac pump click, the power steering kicks in, and the car idles normally. The car only does this early in the morning and makes for a very dangerous drive.

Sounds to me like the throttle sensor, but don't quote me on that. You need a code reader, if you do not have one and/or do not want to invest in one than I suggest the following.
Go to your auto parts store, I know for a fact that Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone have them. They will use a code reader, at no charge, and give you a print out of what might be the problem(s).
Good luck,
