Electrical problem
1992 Ford Crown Victoria V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic? Miles

have replaced batt and alt twice in two weeks. While driving charge guage drops to 0 and car shuts of within 30 secs. Batt volts at that point is approx 8.4 dcv. Have checked resistance between pos cable and junction box and juntion box and alternator - all less than 0.3 ohms. Have checked pin grip on all connectors at alternator. Connectors do not seem corroded. Have stretched and wiggled wires all while running with no change in voltage at alternator. Voltage at alternator while running is approx 11.3 at max. Charging system fuse is fine. Will not stay running if either battery cable is removed.

If the gauge drops to 0 then the ignition isnt getting power or the dash isnt being fed. There are fusible links in the system as well as the ignition switch. I suggest you test all wires first to be sure they have adequate connection. Here is the wiring diagram for your car.
