Ford Contour 98 - 2.0 L - 84000 miles - worth repairs?

Hello - I need to change a solenoid due to check engine code P0442 and I'm told to also change the timing belt. Should the water pump also be changed or can it last for a while? - Last year, check engine code P1137 = replacement of oxygen sensor - Is it worth making the repairs on that type of car or better to get rid of it? Thanks for input!

P0442 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak)

About the Timing chain.
The water pump its drive it by the timing belt and I recommend you to replace it at the same time (new water pump never rebuilt).

Also check for prices and good service technicians to do the job, 84 K M its not that bad, you can get more miles out of your car with a good schedule tune-up and oil change.

Any car with a schedule maintenance service its good (some better than others) but even the new-ones and expensives have problems with all those sensors that reduce the contamination and increase the efficiency of the engine.
