1998 Ford Contour many problems

I had my car very long. Se or sl version. The check engine light never goes off. My heater only works on high. The car now started to slighty smoke from the engine with a slight smell. Not sure if its the heater core or maybe thermostat. Car temp is gd. Any advice for fixing my car n gd maintance, thanks

Hi there,

The first thing that you need to do is get a scan to see what is causing the check light to stay on, we will need to do this one problem at a time.
