I bought a 3.3L 200CID, L6, remanufactured engine in 4/05. When first installed it ran great, and I got about 17-18mpg. Since then it decreases constantly, to where now I only get about 10-12mpg. I have replaced the carb. The fuel line, spark plugs, etc. To no avail. It tends to not react quickly to the accelerator on inclines as well (if this is related) my mechanics that put the engine n said they can find nothing wrong with it?

If its a contact point distributor-check the dwell angle-to include the vacuum advance and centrifugal

If its electronic- check the gap between the magnetic pick-up and armature in the distributor
