When ignition is "off"and the keys are taken out, the fan keeps running. Until key is put back in, and ignition is switched over to "on" and then back to "off". Then fan will turn off.

Does the fan turn off after a few minutes of running with the key off?

Yes. It will run when on the on position I. Turn it to "off". And seems to stop when I turn to "off", but then kicks back on. I then have to switch back to on again then the fan will turn back off again.

But no it will not shut off for minutes of the key being out.

If the engine is hot enough when you turn it off the fan can run for a little while until it reaches the correct temperature then turn itself off. How long are you waiting to see if it will go off by itself?
