After doing the timing belt, crank seal etc, I find myself with 3 bolts I can't remember where they were. One is a 12mm head with red Loctite and the other 2 are 10mm heads, one of which also has Loctite. I'm hoping the Loctite will be a clue. Getting old stinks when the memory fails you. Hoping you can help. I don't think they are down by the crank gear anywhere.

Hi,

Oh boy. That's a tough one. The two 10mm bolts may be from the snow shield below the crankshaft pulley. See pic 1.

Also, check to see if you forgot one on the mount. See pic 2.

Let me know.

Got the 2 in the shield and the 3 motor mounts are 15s. The one on the hose looks interesting. Though the 12 went under the belt cover somewhere, which by the way fit like crap. The only thing that bothers me is the Loctite. Must be somewhere that has vibration issue. I'll keep looking.

Hi,

Let me know about the hose. Also, if you have a chance, let me know if you are able to find the 12mm. I was thinking 14mm when I was looking at the different pics, but that was wrong too. It was 15mm.

Let me know.

Jeff,

I attached the directions for replacing the belt below. Take a look through them and see if there is anything that stands out.

Watching the videos is also a good idea.

Let me know if this helps.

Nobody shows taking the bolts out. I think I removed some from the belt protector thinking I had to remove it. I remember the 12mm one in that vicinity. I'm going back in tomorrow and I'll find where they go. I hope. Thanks for your help.

No problem whatsoever. If you have a chance, let me know if you find where they go. I'm interested in knowing.

Take care,

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad you found them. It's never a good feeling when you finish a job and have parts left over. LOL

You take care of yourself and feel free to come back anytime in the future.
