I turn the engine off and remove the key and it keeps running for a few minutes then finally sputters and dies. Dash lights stay on until it dies. Ignition switch was just changed a couple of weeks ago and it is still doing this.

Start with having the computer scanned for any stored codes. If you have a severe vacuum leak somewhere it will cause what we call dieseling.

Okay good, what are the code numbers being stored? Was the engine smoke tested for vacuum leaks?
