Engine swap?

I Have 2005 Ford Ranger with a 3 liter engine - automatic Tran, can I replace the engine with an engine from a 2007 Ford Ranger 3 liter engine - standard Tran (would keep the automatic tran)?? If the engine will fit/work, will the automatic tran fit/work on the 2007 engine?? Thanks
