In the last 2 months I have replaced the transmission, radiator, lower and upper intake manifold gaskets, the check engine light is off, coolant and resevor are full, oil has been changed and is full, all gauges read fine on oil, temp, etc. But the engine seems very hot after driving for 45 minutes or so. Hotter than it should be I guess. This is just from opening the hood and feeling the heat coming off the engine. I have owned a few vehicles in this year range and have not noticed this before.

Well if gauges read ok don't worry about it normal temp is 210 on these you could check the radiator cap for correct pressure.
