Hello,

The price of the engine will vary depending on if you get a used one from a salvage yard or a remanufactured one.
Typical used ones from the salvage yards can be found for about $500.00 to $700.00.
Remanufactured engines typically run around $2,300.00 to $2,700.00.

As for the installation it will vary depending on where you take it. As all the shops will have different rates.

Best option would be to contact few shops to get an idea.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Awesome! Thank you very much for the answer and additional diagram on how to take out and re-install an engine that was exactly what I was looking for and couldn't seem to find any help online with diagrams like this one you provided.

Okay, so I bought this car from a used car dealer last year and one week later the engine messed up. So, can you give me an accurate description of what exactly happen to my vehicle? Like if the dealer sold me a lemon or could it have been something I did within a week of purchasing the car. I will enclose some pictures of what happened to the engine.

That looks completely destroyed. Could be due to no/low fluid, Did it overheat?

No, it didn't overheat I had just got an oil change at Walmart literally 30 minutes before it happened then I jumped on the interstate to pick up some speed to see how the car was running and I just heard a loud pop then all the oil start rushing out from underneath the car from the front to the back. I called the auto dealer where I purchased it from and explained what happened and they said it was Walmart's fault then Walmart sent a technician out to help me and he said it was a bad engine so they blamed the auto dealer so I don't know who to really believe or what really happened, so I'm just stuck with the vehicle since I purchased it in late 2020. It's been parked in my garage ever since the incident and I just want to get it back running so I am trying to do an engine replacement job on it next month.

Got it.
Well, if something got loose like the drain plug or oil filter it will leak out oil and that made the engine run dry. Which can seize the engine and destroy internal components.
I have seen vehicles run out of oil due to a blown-out filter and completely destroyed the engine.
Were you able to figure out where it leaked out?

Do you know if the filter was intact?

No, I wasn't able to figure out exactly where the leak started but from what I was looking at it seemed like it was leaking out from many spots under the car as oil was leaking from the front to the back after hearing the loud pop. Yes, the Walmart technician who looked at the car after the incident happened said the filter was properly in and everything was intact because I was trying to put a claim in against Walmart for messing the car up but they reviewed it and basically told me it that wasn't their fault.

You could have had a blown-out crankshaft seal. Which will leak out fluid as well and can lead to the same issue.
If they torqued the drain plug and the properly tighten the filter, then it should not leak.

Keep in mind that if they put too much oil in the engine, it can also blow out seals.
