Engine replaced

Recently I had my engine replace in a F450 Super Duty, and the fuel tank as well. I got it back from the mechanic and I noticed all the radio presets and the clock were the way they were before I had the engine replaced. That made me suspicious that maybe the engine was not replaced after all. Would presets on the radio be changed if the engine was replaced? How could I tell if the engine was replaced?

Usually if the battry is disconnected the presets go away. Does the engine look like the original one tha twas in there? If it's rebuilt it's normally painted does it have the same problem you had prior to this. Where did the engine come from or was it jjust repaired? I imagine this is a diesel so there shold be some tell tale thing there.
