Manufactures engine improvements to this model vehicle

I own a the vehicle listed above it has been a good car and has nearly 180,000 miles. It is beginning to use a little oil. This engine has a reputation for using oil. Mine did not. I am considering buying a 2017 Terrain. Was that engine improved between the 2014 and the 2017 years?

Good afternoon,

There were improvements made in 2016 for the engine.

The oil usage issue is a factor anymore at all. Besides, most of the complaints on your year came from lack of maintenance, not the engine itself. All you have to do is change the oil on a regular basis and you will not have those issues.

I would not hesitate at all up upgrading.
