Engine high idle and surges, code P0171

When the car warms up it begins to high idle and then it surges and almost shuts off and then it surges back up and it shuts off and it continues. Sounds like the car is going to take off or blow up. It seems to be getting worse. The code I get is p0171 high idle. What are some common issues with this model of car?

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. The code says the engine is running lean which this guide can help but I would not try to fix this part until the engine noise is resolved which can fix the code as well.
