My truck was having an EGR code. I replace the EGR valve and the code went away, but the motor is still lagging having loss of power and will even cut out if I give it gas too quickly sometimes. I removed the vacuum line after replacing EGR valve and cap both ends and it seems to run better. What could be causing the issues?

Hi KJByrd22,

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Everything you described matches a vacuum leak.

When you give it gas and it cuts out that normally indicates it is getting unmetered air from somewhere else and when you open the throttle and allow more air in, it is too much and stalls the engine.

Here is a guide that walks you through the basics:

Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks
