Hi guys. My vehicle seems to have detonation/spark knock while accelerating, also some slight hesitation if I hold it around 60 mph. I suspect the EGR valve so I sprayed some EGR cleaner through the intake and the detonation/rattle stopped for about twenty minutes before returning.

I plugged a scanner in to read the commanded EGR and EGR error values and I got "Commanded EGR - 38%, EGR error -99.2%" at idle.
"Commanded EGR - 5.1%, EGR error +88.3" at 2000 RPM.

Any input as to what these values mean in real terms.

Removing the EGR as soon as I can to clean and I am hoping this is the main issue.

Maybe a bad egr valve or plugged system what are the codes. Also if vacuum operated look for a vacuum leak going to egr

Thanks for the reply.

No codes at all, and it's an electronic EGR. Just took it off this evening, cleaned and reassembled. Still the same noise just not quite as bad. Maybe injectors??

Actually if there is a knock the knock sensors would retard the spark and car would run like crap. So also check for loose shields hitting engine etc. Also still check for a vacuum leak.
