Driver's side rear window motor replacement

After replacing the driver's side rear window motor does something need to be reset in order for it to work? The window is stuck in the down position and the dealer wanted to charge almost $700 to fix it. I ordered a motor. When I plugged it and pushed the window switch the gear didn't turn. Could it be the wiring or something else? Thank you.

You will have to test power at the switch and trace back to the window motor, if the motor drove down I would be looking at the switch and also make sure there is not a problem with the regulator.
