Weird smell to it and it started running weird

I drove my car in second gear on the highway and I pulled over when I noticed, after I pulled over it had a weird smell to it and it started running weird. It stills turns on but I am not sure if it’s okay to drive and wondering what I can do to fix it.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

If it is running properly now, chances are it was getting excessively hot from the higher RPM's. That could have been burning dirt and oil off the engine and exhaust.

If it seems to be running normally, you should be fine.

Let me know if there are any other things you noticed.
