Battery dead, wouldn't take a charge. Replaced battery. Van wouldn't start the next morning. Replaced voltage regulator. Same problem. Voltage gauge on dash shows no charging. Engine dies when battery cable is disconnected while engine is running.

if your question would read, what should I do next after I have replaced my battery and voltage regulator with known good parts and my charging system is still not working I would say to check the regulator for a good ground where it mounts, check that you have battery voltage at the large wire on the voltage regulator, one of two smaller field wires on alternator also, and the big red cable going from alt. to battery must be ok. If battery and reg. are new and battery ground cable is good, replace the alternator.
