I have a 03 Dodge 1500 Quadcab 5.7 liter Hemi with about 65000 miles on it. When I go along distance, the check engine light will come on along with a flashing red light that looks like a lightning bolt. If you let your foot off of the gas, and then back on it is slow to react. Once I turn the truck off and let it sit for about 10 mins, the flashing red light will go off. Then if you turn if off again the check engine will go off. It only does it when I go on a long trip.

Had the same problem. The only temporary solution I found was to remove the hose between the air intae and the PVC valve. I found on long tripss that I had moisture and emulsified oil there. I maintain my vehicles well and had fresh oil changes each time the above happened to me. By removing the hose and knocking out the oil and water I was able to kep the truck running to finish the trip uneventfully. I want to know where the moisture that is causing this problem coming from. Anyone have any ideas? The truck is working well has about 78000 miles the truck was upto temperature and only experienced this during long trips.
