2001 Dodge Truck service engine code

Hello guys. I keep getting a service code on my truck.I have a code reader and it shows P1740.I clear the code and it will come back after driving it for 30 miles or so. My haynes book doesnt show that code at all. Can you tell me what it is. Thanks. Vern.

That's telling you there is a problem with the over drive solenoid, or the torque convert is not locking up.

They are both expensive to fix.

As a last ditch effort, you can change your tranny fluid.
(if you cant remember the last time it was done, you should do it anyway cause it probably needs it)
