I have a dodge Stratus ES, you know the one with the factory defect that creates oil build up and what not making the engine fail. Well physically the car is in good shape. I was planning to do a swap to a 3.0 from the R/T(the same year and make) but have been told that Icant do that with no clear indication as to why. Can you please explain? The engine bay should be about the same on a 4 door as an the coupe.

First, anything is possible. It can be done, but it isn't worth the time, money, and problems that you will experience. What happens is this. Your vehicle is designed differently. If you change the engine, everything needs changed, wiring, exhaust, sensors, computers, vacuum hoses... Basically, it isn't worth the effortm cost... Everytime people do this, they get it running, then the check engine light comes on, and problems with sensors start.

Let me know if you have other questions.
