Well, im in college for auto technology and according to my instructor synthetic is more solely for racing cars, but mostly depends on how you drive your car like you said. Also, im sure you know this, but make sure you dont put in different weight oil than manufacturer specs you will severely reduce your engines life. Hope this helps
